Open day report and Southern Region Flock Competition Results  2021

Thanks Go to the Gorringe Family who put on a fabulous open day this autumn.

At their Broomefield Farm in East Sussex.  To which 15 members and our President Jean Simmonds Kindly Attended to hand out the rosettes and cups, after Judging our flock Competition last month.

Our Day began with coffee in the barn so we could get Barn Envy!  Where Peter has all his Rosettes on the wall and Frances had set up their stall of woolly goods. Jean Simmonds gave us Apologies from Kay Carpenter for not making it one the day, before handing out the cups and rosettes, with complements to all the flocks they visited over the weekend of judging.

We then walked out to see their flock of Dutch Spotted Sheep in the beautiful Autumn Sunshine. And some of their Jacob Flock All the while chatting amongst ourselves, these events are at there best for making contact with other breeders and flock management ideas abound who knows what gems you’ll come home with..

Before taking a short drive to the rest of the flock, on the steep hills of East Sussex where round bales are a no no!

Followed by delicious roast dinner at Peter’s Local the perfect finish to a great Day!
